According to an announcement by Circle, Circle Research is a research organization dedicated to open-source principles, aiming to contribute to the public good and accelerate innovation in the fields of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3. Key research areas include cryptography, cryptocurrency standards, zero-knowledge proof technology, and smart contract development.

Circle Research's First Protocol "Perimeter Protocol"

With the establishment of Circle Research, it has also announced the launch of its first protocol – Perimeter Protocol.

Circle Research describes Perimeter Protocol as a set of smart contracts built on open standards, designed to facilitate seamless exchange of capital on a secure, open, and permissionless network. Through this protocol, real-world assets RWA and under-collateralized or low-collateral loans that meet underwriting and licensing standards can be incorporated into the public protocols offered by Circle.

Circle invites developers to explore the Github documentation of the Perimeter Protocol and welcomes suggestions for updates or forks to the documentation.
