Cyver told the media CoinDesk that this attack was likely caused by a suspected private key leak, allowing the attackers to access the Heco cross-chain bridge.

Although an HTX spokesperson emphasized to CoinDesk that HTX and Heco Chain operate independently, Justin Sun tweeted that HTX will compensate for any losses incurred. Currently, deposits and withdrawals have been suspended, while the remaining assets are secure.

Justin Sun stated:

We are investigating the specific reasons for the hacker attack. Once the investigation is completed and the cause is identified, we will resume service.
