According to previous reports, as of October 4th, the JPEX case in Hong Kong has led to the arrest of 20 individuals, 2,523 reported victims, involving approximately 1.55 billion Hong Kong dollars, about 6.392 billion New Taiwan dollars.

In Taiwan, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has also confirmed receiving reports of illegal solicitation and evidence provided by JPEX in Taiwan, and has transferred the information to the judicial investigation authorities. Due to a significant number of victims in Taiwan, with current losses amounting to tens of millions of New Taiwan dollars, after an investigation by the Taipei City Investigation Bureau, a well-known singer, Chen Ling Jiu, who was responsible for endorsing the platform, was recently secretly summoned for questioning. The case is related to fraud, and after being questioned by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, he was allowed to leave pending further investigation, with the process kept confidential.

According to UDN News, the Investigation Bureau summoned Chen Ling Jiu as a witness. Chen Ling Jiu stated that the entire matter was arranged by Liu Bai Liang, a manager from Rolling Stone Records, and he was only responsible for endorsements. He also claimed to be a victim himself. Whether Liu Bai Liang will be summoned by the Investigation Bureau is still under evaluation.

During the investigation, it was found that Chen Ling Jiu's endorsement fee reached a figure in the high eight digits, far exceeding the usual market rate, and higher than the previous estimate of 3 million New Taiwan dollars per year. Although Chen Ling Jiu stated that he had terminated his cooperation with JPEX by the end of July 2023 and removed related promotional materials, he personally suffered a loss of 10-15% of his assets in the JPEX incident. However, since the JPEX case erupted, the company located near SOGO in Taipei's East District has been vacated, leaving Taiwanese victims with no means of seeking compensation, forcing them to provide statements to the Investigation Bureau.

Whether Chen Ling Jiu was completely unaware of the situation remains to be clarified, and whether he will transition from a witness to a defendant in the future will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation.
