Bitcoin Hits All-Time Highs in 14 Countries

Former CTO of Coinbase, Balaji Srinivasan, pointed out that as Bitcoin surpasses the $50,000 mark, it has reached all-time highs in 14 countries with a total population of over 1 billion and a combined GDP exceeding $7 trillion.

This includes high inflation countries such as Japan, Argentina, Turkey, Nigeria, among others previously reported.

Balaji: The Dollar is a Vampire

Balaji Srinivasan referenced data compiled by a Bitcoin magazine, showing that over the past decade, multiple fiat currencies have experienced negative growth ranging from -55% to -99.9% against the US dollar, while Bitcoin against the US dollar has surged by 21,369%.

He stated:

The dollar is a vampire. It has drained the life out of all fiat currencies, but then Bitcoin turned the tables on the dollar because since the birth of Bitcoin, the dollar against Bitcoin has significantly depreciated, and this trend of depreciation will continue.

In 2023, Balaji Srinivasan made a bet on Twitter with a KOL, predicting that Bitcoin would reach one million dollars by June of last year. This stirred up a lot of attention.

In hindsight, Bitcoin has indeed seen significant growth, but not as much as he anticipated.
