According to Bloomberg BNN, Deutsche Bank AG has applied to regulatory authorities for a license to operate digital asset custody services, such as cryptocurrencies.

David Lynne, head of the commercial banking division of Deutsche Bank, has stated that the bank has submitted an application for a digital assets license to the German securities regulator. Deutsche Bank aims to expand its corporate business revenue through this service and align with its efforts in the digital asset space.
Deutsche Bank had hinted at launching digital asset custody services at the end of 2020 but had not officially launched them yet.
Deutsche Bank Seen as Crypto-Friendly
According to media outlet CoinDesk, owned by the U.S. cryptocurrency group DCG, Deutsche Bank remains one of the banks willing to engage with crypto companies following the Silicon Valley Bank incident.
