Adobe launches AI Video and upgrades its Adobe Firefly AI machine learning model for a comprehensive creative experience

Adobe is fully embracing AI! Adobe is set to launch Adobe Firefly, a generative AI Video tool. Adobe Firefly is included in the paid subscription service built into the Adobe Creative Cloud App, and the beta version is currently being rolled out. Existing paid Creative Cloud members can experience Firefly's AI features for free.

Adobe has previously introduced AI-generated images that utilize open-source image materials at no extra cost, but the pricing for using Adobe image materials has yet to be determined. Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen mentioned in an interview with Bloomberg that Adobe Max conference will officially unveil AI Video, the all-new Generate Video that can be used within Premiere Pro. Currently in beta testing, the pricing for using this new feature is yet to be determined. The hope is to encourage creators to explore and utilize the new AI functionalities.

What is Adobe Firefly?

Adobe Firefly is a generative AI machine learning model that uses Adobe image libraries, Creative Commons, Wikimedia, Flickr Commons, as well as open-source images and videos to train AI for generating images and graphics.

Introduction to New Features of Adobe Generative AI

The application scenarios of Adobe Firefly generative AI can be used within existing Adobe Creative Cloud Apps. This includes using AI to generate color fills in Photoshop with Generative Fill to automatically fill and enhance images to create realistic photographs and graphics. It also involves using text prompts generated by the Firefly machine learning model to create images, as well as upgrades in the existing Premiere Pro software.

The new AI auto-editing feature launched in Premiere Pro video editing software can extend the frame rate of videos to increase their length. The AI detects and analyzes the content of the video to help extend existing videos, trim excess footage, and enhance music and audio through analysis. The latest video creation feature can even create videos, clips, and promos from scratch, solely based on AI-generated prompts converting ideas and creativity into videos swiftly.

Adobe Generate Video for Comprehensive Video Production

The next-generation generative AI machine learning video model can be used for various film editing and production tasks. Writers simply need to outline the plot, script scenes, and specify the filming equipment and style, and the AI can generate short films based on the analysis. The powerful image-generating and editing capabilities seem to empower everyone to become creators, even without formal film education.

Nvidia's CUDA GPU Boosting Performance

Adobe and Nvidia have been long-term partners, with Nvidia's AI chips and powerful GPUs accelerating image processing. Adobe's video editing software Premiere utilizes CUDA chip programming to speed up editing processes, saving time and effort for creators. In the past, creators often faced efficiency issues and laggy video editing, but CUDA's high-performance processing and AI deep learning cloud systems comprehensively resolve video editing challenges.

Adobe Advocates for AI Ethical Governance

Creators using Premiere Pro can synthesize various video materials, and with AI capabilities in the future, there is concern about images or videos being used without permission for derivative works. Acknowledging potential copyright disputes, Adobe also declares adherence to AI ethical standards, currently training AI models only with materials from Adobe libraries and open-source databases.

Adobe has established the Content Authenticity Initiative CAI alliance to promote transparency in digital content creation, verifying the source and authorship of creations, with nearly 2,500 members from various industries already joining.
