Meta AI integrates into life, IG background editing, Messenger improvisation, AI chat great companion, making your life more exciting

Meta has recently accelerated the integration of various AI functionalities in its application, with IG Instagram launching an AI background editing feature called Backdrop. Messenger and Instagram have also introduced a new feature called "Reimagine," allowing friends in groups to collaboratively create using AI. Additionally, AI chat companions based on celebrities or special role models have been introduced, starting in the United States. AI technology is gradually becoming integrated into people's daily lives in a user-friendly manner.

IG Launches AI Background Editing Feature

According to a post by Ahmad Al-Dahle, Meta's generative AI lead, on Threads, users will receive ready-made prompts such as "on the red carpet," "being chased by dinosaurs," and "surrounded by puppies" when they click on the background editor icon on an image. Users can also write their own prompts to change the background.

This feature is currently only available to users in the United States, and it utilizes Meta's in-house Emu Edit technology for generative AI tools.

Collaborative Improvisation within Groups

Meta AI on Messenger and Instagram has introduced a new feature called "Rethink." It works in group chats as follows: Meta AI generates and shares the initial image you request, and then friends can hold the image and improvise with simple text prompts, creating a completely new image. This way, friends can bounce images back and forth, having a good laugh as they compete with increasingly crazy ideas.

AI Chat Companions Based on Celebrities or Special Roles

Meta has also recently launched a series of AI characters that U.S. users can chat with through Meta's apps—currently WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. More AI characters will now support Bing-powered searches and begin experimenting with "long-term memory" across multiple characters, meaning they will learn and remember your conversations when they end.

Meta stated that the long-term memory feature will appear in characters such as Billie based on Kendell Jenner, Carter the dating coach, Scarlett (the best friend), Zach based on MrBeast, Victor based on Dwyane Wade, Sally (based on Sam Kerr), and Leo the career coach. These characters will remember what you've said before and continue conversations from where they left off. This also allows Meta to retain user data between conversations to help improve its AI products.

However, users can clear chat records with AI at any time, and Meta's use of chat data will adhere to its generative AI privacy guidelines, with the recent introduction of "invisible watermarks" to identify images generated by Meta AI.
