DOTA2 team announcement! FTX Exchange invites teams to charity tournament on the 17th, Taiwan community represented by Steaker.

FTX established the FTX Charitable Foundation in February this year, donating 1% of platform transaction fees to those in need. At the launch of the charitable foundation, FTX stated its intention to return decision-making power to the community.

So far, the FTX Charitable Foundation has accumulated $10.57 million, donating a total of $1.25 million to six charitable organizations, including non-governmental organization GiveDirectly, Indian education charity Hands on India, and providing medical resources to India through One More Breath.

In order to encourage more community participation in the FTX Charitable Fund, FTX will collaborate with the esports game DOTA 2 on the 17th of this month to hold a competition, allowing the winner to decide on the next recipient of the donation.

The list of selected donation recipients by the community has been announced, including the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF), New Incentive to increase vaccination rates in Nigeria, and the Helen Keller International project dedicated to visual and health research, among six charitable organizations.

Community members can team up to participate, and FTX will also form a team. The ultimate winner will be able to select one charity from the recipient list to receive a $100,000 donation.

There are eight teams participating in the competition, including SECO, Galois, Wintermute, Safepal, and Coingecko, with the representative from the Taiwan FTX community being Creamy Steaker (Cream and Steaker).

Wilson Huang, founder of the Steaker digital asset management platform, expressed that the idea of playing games for charity is very innovative, and FTX's approach has inspired Steaker to consider organizing a charity competition for League of Legends in the future.

"Thank you very much for FTX's invitation. Being able to do charity while playing games is amazing! It makes me feel that Steaker should also organize a League of Legends charity competition in the future."

FTX officials pointed out that the reason for organizing this event is not only to involve more of the FTX community but also to help the DOTA community understand that the crypto community is dedicated to changing the world.

After this event, the FTX Charitable Foundation will continue to contribute to public welfare, using the power of the crypto community to change the world. Currently, the FTX Charitable Foundation has accumulated $10.57 million in donations, with over $7 million coming from voluntary community donations.
