"Trump Coins": Pure silver priced at $100, still relying on physical goods for fundraising?

Former U.S. President Trump's product line is becoming increasingly diverse, recently launching a $100 silver coin that contains only about $30 worth of silver. Trump's products range from Bibles to limited edition sneakers, and even include non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Trump Launches "Trump Coins" Made of Pure Silver

Recently, Trump announced through the social platform Truth Social the launch of a $100 silver coin weighing one ounce, touted as "99.9% pure silver." However, based on silver market data, the current value of one ounce of silver is only about $31.50. Nevertheless, supporters may consider it a collectible item and anticipate a potential increase in its value in the future.

Coin Design: Featuring Trump's Image and the White House on Both Sides

One side of this silver coin is engraved with a profile of Trump, while the other side displays the White House and Trump's signature. The product page clearly states that this coin is "apolitical" and is not sold by Trump himself, the Trump Organization, or any of its affiliates. This indicates that the product is solely a collectible item and is unrelated to his political activities.

Not the First Foray into the Collectibles Market: Previously Released NFTs and Sneaker Products

The release of this silver coin comes just about a month after Trump launched the fourth series of NFT trading cards, priced at $99 each, showing his continued interest in the cryptocurrency market. In February of this year, Trump also introduced his high-top sneaker collection, ranging in price from $99 to $399.

Trump Collaborates with "God Bless the USA" Singer to Launch a Bible

In addition to digital assets and fashion items, Trump also collaborated with singer Lee Greenwood in March of this year to launch a Bible priced at $60. Greenwood is the renowned creator of the song "God Bless the USA." It is said that this Bible has achieved sales of $300,000.

Trump's Current Financial Status: Slight Decrease in Net Worth

According to Forbes' estimate, Trump's current net worth is around $3.7 billion, showing a recent slight decline, partly due to his media company Trump Media's stock repeatedly hitting new lows. However, most of Trump's wealth is still tied to his ownership of DJT stock, the company behind his social platform Truth Social.

Trump's financial pressures have also extended to his campaign activities. According to a report by Politico, Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign spending in August significantly exceeded Trump's, yet Harris's campaign team still raised $190 million, while Trump only raised $45 million.

From silver coins, NFTs to sneakers, Trump's product line is expanding, bringing in substantial income. However, whether these product revenues can fill his financial gap amid legal disputes and campaign pressures remains to be seen.
