Cryptocurrency-friendly company HTC launches 5G router that can run a full Bitcoin node and supports Brave browser.

After launching a series of blockchain smartphones (EXODUS), HTC has now introduced a new 5G router, Exodus 5G Hub, which not only supports Bitcoin blockchain but also integrates HTC's proprietary Zion Vault wallet application and features the privacy-focused Brave (BAT) browser.

The Exodus 5G Hub not only supports secure 5G network connections but also utilizes the same technology as the blockchain phone series EXODUS. Users can run full Bitcoin (BTC) nodes to record and verify transactions on the chain, while also contributing to maintaining the ledger. HTC stated:

The Exodus 5G Hub allows users to manage their encryption keys through the Zion Vault wallet, marking the beginning of changing the status quo through decentralization.

Reports indicate that Zion not only has the capability to run a Bitcoin node but also performs key recovery actions in case users accidentally lose their devices. Users can view their holdings of encrypted assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), BNB, Litecoin (LTC), Stellar (XLM), as well as ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens.

HTC's decentralized chief officer, Chen Xinsheng, stated:

Exodus means absolute ownership. Owning private keys, owning data, owning privacy. Exodus aims to challenge potential privacy risks posed by tech giants like Amazon, Google, Facebook, and more. With the Exodus 5G Hub, users can have more control over their data ownership than ever before.

HTC plans to incorporate several privacy-focused applications for data in all Exodus devices, including the Swiss free electronic mailbox ProtonMail, Brave browser, and the Incognito VPN for anonymous virtual private networks. The Exodus 5G Hub is set to launch in the second quarter with pricing yet to be determined.

Cryptocurrency-Friendly Enterprises: Blockchain Phones, Investment Exchanges

HTC has released two Exodus blockchain phones. According to previous reports, HTC launched the special edition EXODUS 1 in November last year, supporting the decentralized exchange Binance Chain and the BNB token application. With HTC getting closer to cryptocurrency and blockchain, its subsidiary fund, Proof of Capital, also participated in investing in the cryptocurrency exchange FTX last year.
