Uniswap New Features Review: On-Chain Limit Orders, Web Browser Wallet Integration, Token Price Charts

The decentralized exchange Uniswap recently introduced three major product enhancements, including gas-free limit orders, web browser wallet extension, and token price charts. However, the browser extension currently requires registration with Uniswap Wallet to join the waiting list.

Uniswap Introduces Three New Features

Fee-Free On-Chain Limit Orders

Users can now place limit orders for any token on the Uniswap interface, with the option to set an expiration date of up to one year, allowing for more flexible and convenient trading strategies.

This limit order feature is supported by UniswapX, enabling users to place orders without incurring gas fees by signing off-chain. This enhances user experience, but canceling orders still requires gas fees to notify the chain of the invalid signature.

The team announced that to celebrate the new feature's launch, they will waive the front-end service fee for limit orders for a limited time.

Web Browser Wallet Extension

Although this feature has not been officially released yet, users who wish to experience it early need to download the Uniswap wallet to join the waitlist.

Based on the promotional video released by the official team, the wallet's basic functions include transfer and receive, in-wallet transactions, and credit card purchases. It also appears to have a chat button.

However, the user experience seems similar to MetaMask, indicating no significant product advantage other than relying on the Uniswap brand. It remains a challenge for the team to attract users to switch to their own wallet.

Token Price Charts

This feature is now open for all users to use. By clicking on the "Explore" page, users can access detailed information on various tokens and trade simultaneously, allowing for quicker decision-making in trading.

However, this function, already present in other decentralized exchanges like Pancakeswap, lags behind mainstream centralized exchanges in terms of chart features. It only offers basic timeline adjustments, lacks date display when hovering over individual candlesticks, and has room for improvement.

Currently, users need to visit the individual token page to access the chart, as it is not available on the homepage trading interface.

UNI Token Update

The UNI token is currently priced around $10.5, with recent gains primarily driven by the proposal for profit sharing from trading fees. There have been no further significant price increases.
