Google launches generative AI tool ImageFX to simplify user input with keywords.

Google recently launched a new image-generating AI tool called ImageFX, which allows users to quickly generate images using keywords. In addition, optimizations have been made for the AI tools MusicFX and TextFX for music and text generation. However, these three services are currently not available to the people in Taiwan.

Introducing ImageFX: Generating High-Quality Images with Keywords

ImageFX is a new tool recently launched by Google that allows users to create images through simple text prompts, similar to using ChatGPT.

Powered by the Imagen 2 model, ImageFX is supported by Imagen 2, a text-to-image model from Google DeepMind. The team mentioned that its rendering techniques can reduce common odd shadows and compositions found in generative images, making the images more realistic.

Unlike ChatGPT, where prompt inputs require complete paragraphs of text for precise description, ImageFX uses expressive chips to enable users to describe images with keywords. It also provides keyword suggestions and replacement options, allowing users to generate and experiment with images more quickly.

Optimizing MusicFX and TextFX

MusicFX

MusicFX, an AI tool released last year for text-to-music generation, can create music up to 70 seconds long or music that can be looped by simply inputting prompts.

Since its launch, global users have created over 10 million tracks using this tool. Based on this feedback data, the team is improving the MusicLM model to achieve higher-quality audio and faster music generation.

All images generated using ImageFX and songs created using MusicFX are tagged with SynthID, allowing digital watermarks to be added directly to the content for identification by other systems without affecting the appearance, ensuring copyright protection.

TextFX

Furthermore, the team has enhanced TextFX, a text generation tool developed in collaboration with Lupe Fiasco, to improve the user experience and interface for writers and screenwriters to use more conveniently.

Google AI Tools for User-Friendly Experience

One significant commercial challenge of current generative AI is that "users find it difficult to use." The input of prompts requires knowledge, as seen by the numerous AI usage tutorials available, creating cognitive burdens that reduce user willingness to use AI tools.

For example, ImageFX allows users to input keywords to generate images, unlike ChatGPT which requires complete paragraphs of text or image generation tools like Midjourney that come with complex usage commands. ImageFX makes it easier for users to complete tasks by only inputting keywords.
