LVMH Combines Digital Technology to Create a New Brand Experience
At the annual tech conference Viva Technology 2023, LVMH announced a strategic partnership with Epic Games aimed at creating new physical and digital products through Epic Games' expertise. They intend to enhance interactions between LVMH's brands and global customers through immersive digital experiences.
The 3D tools from Epic Games include Unreal Engine game development engine, Reality Capture photogrammetry software, Twinmotion environmental rendering software, and more. LVMH aims to bridge the gap between customers and brands and explore the integration of its products with digital technology.
Applications will include 360-degree product viewing, virtual fitting rooms, and digital fashion shows.
In response, Toni Belloni, Managing Director of LVMH, stated:
Additionally, "Our collaboration with Epic Games will enhance our expertise in 3D technology and brand ecosystem, from creating new collection series to innovative advertising campaigns. It will also allow us to engage more effectively with the younger generation."
LVMH has Already Embraced Web3
The term "phygital," referring to a new sales model born from the integration of physical and digital realms, has been widely discussed alongside the recent boom in NFTs. Several Game-Fi and NFT projects have elements of phygital. As a leading global fashion brand, LVMH has long been on this path.
Just a few days ago, LVMH announced its upcoming debut NFT series, "Digital Luggage Via Treasure Trunks," exclusively for members, priced at 39,000 euros (approximately 42,000 USD) per NFT, which can be exchanged for a limited edition physical trunk.
It is understood that Via is their new digital product brand, and Treasure Trunks will serve as LVMH's digital membership card, available for purchase through a vetting process. In the future, owners may have priority access to the latest and exclusive limited edition products or services, including physical clothing or participation in brand offline events.
