It is reported that in this collaboration, Reddit's data API will provide Google with real-time and extensive content from its platform, allowing Google not only to display Reddit content in its products but also to use it for training and improving AI models:
Google can now efficiently access real-time, unique, and structured data from Reddit's community platform, helping us quickly understand the content on Reddit and display or train it in the most accurate way.

Reddit Stock 'RDDT' to Go Public Soon
It is understood that according to a report by Bloomberg last week, Reddit has signed a $60 million deal with an AI company to provide textual and audiovisual content from its community platform for training AI models. It is now apparent that the company in question is likely Google itself.
Furthermore, Reddit has announced plans to charge companies using its API, all of which point to its recent filing for an initial public offering (IPO) with the SEC.
It is reported that the stock code 'RDDT' is expected to go public in March, making it one of the few large social media companies to IPO since Pinterest in 2019.

AI Training Content May Pose Legal Risks
The public collaboration between these two companies reflects the trend of AI enterprises actively collaborating with text and audiovisual content platforms, partly to expand the comprehensiveness of their training data and information and also to avoid legal risks associated with unauthorized use of third-party content.
Previously, The New York Times sued Microsoft and OpenAI, accusing the two companies of copyright infringement for using the newspaper's content without permission to train their AI models, damaging their reputation and operational capabilities. OpenAI responded that it was "fair use."
