Telegram launches encrypted payment feature! Users can send, receive, and purchase cryptocurrency assets.

Telegram is undoubtedly one of the most commonly used messaging apps in the blockchain space. This week, it has rolled out a convenient new feature where users can now buy, send, and receive cryptocurrencies within the app!

It’s a new way to send Toncoin without transaction fees to any Telegram user. With this service, you’ll no longer need to enter long wallet addresses and wait for confirmations.

According to a tweet from the TON Foundation on February 26th, Telegram has added a feature for encrypted payments, allowing its 550 million users to send, receive, and buy assets within the app.

Currently, the assets that can be purchased on Telegram are limited to BTC and TON, with the ability to send assets between users restricted to TON only. The TON Foundation stated that this feature has been utilized by over 800,000 users, aiming to make sending TON tokens as easy as sending messages.

How to Use

To use this feature, users need to type "Wallet" in the search bar and open the Wallet bot chat room marked with a blue checkmark.

Once opened, click on the button inside the red box in the image to authorize.

After authorization, the wallet option will appear in the menu, allowing users to send TON tokens to any user.

All wallet-related operations, including deposits, withdrawals, buying, and exchanging coins, can be done in the Wallet bot chat room.
