Flow | "Capture Historic Moments!" CNN Launches News Event NFTs, Presidential Elections, Space Missions Collectible

On the 17th, Cable News Network (CNN) released a press release introducing "Vault by CNN: Moments That Changed Us" NFT, allowing viewers to collect historic moments through NFTs. Update on 7/1: CNN launches its first wave of NFTs.

CNN: Changing Our Moments with NFT Collections

CNN has stated that for 41 years they have been documenting and broadcasting contemporary global stories, and now, for the first time, they are offering collectors the opportunity to own a piece of history through technology.

CNN's NFT project, "Vault by CNN," will curate a series of iconic news events and issue them as NFTs on the blockchain, referred to as "Moments," for sale on the Vault by CNN website.

CNN stated, "In the past, collectors could only preserve historically significant news events through original printed materials like newspapers or magazines. Now, most of the time, we witness these important moments on screens or in our hands. Through technology, collectors have another way to preserve original digital moments and they can be verified through traceability."

Launching in Late June! New Moments Released Every Week for Six Weeks

CNN's NFTs are reportedly set to launch in late June, featuring themes such as CNN's early exclusive reports, world history, and presidential elections, with more NFTs on different topics to follow in the future. Buyers of the NFTs can showcase their collections on the Vault website, and some limited editions will come with exclusive visuals and other additional rewards.

Updated on 7/1

Vault released the first two NFTs, the first being a 1980 speech by CNN founder Ted Turner, and the second being live coverage by a CNN reporter during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Each has a limited edition of 500, priced at $25, but currently only available for purchase by users in specific regions.
