Upon discovering this vulnerability, Apple promptly responded. Ivan Krstić, Head of Apple Security Engineering and Architecture, stated in a release:
Upon confirming the iMessage vulnerability, Apple swiftly developed and deployed a fix on iOS 14.8 to protect our users. We will continue to work tirelessly to safeguard all our customers and continually add new protections for their devices and data.
Today, the Ethereum wallet developer MetaMask also urged all iPhone users on their Twitter to upgrade their iPhones to version 14.8 to prevent any potential risk of cryptocurrency loss. On the 15th, the digital asset security solution company CYBAVO stated that according to intelligence, the iMessage vulnerability has not been fully fixed yet, recommending disabling the feature altogether for security measures.
