As one of the most prominent supporters of cryptocurrency, Mark Cuban, the owner of the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, stated that after getting to know former President Donald Trump, he no longer supports him politically. In an interview with former Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Cuban said that when he first got to know Trump, he had a favorable impression of him, believing he was not a typical Ivy League bookworm. However, it was Trump's ethics and certain business practices that ultimately turned him off.
Cuban pointed out instances where Trump made false advertisements for his company and when a worker died during the construction of a Trump hotel, Trump chose to sever ties with the hotel. Cuban has long been publicly opposed to Republican candidates and their policies on social media. "He was unethical then, and he's still unethical now," Cuban said, adding, "You need someone who is inclined not to do things that are in their own best personal interest. You can't deny that that's Donald Trump."
Democrats Launch Crypto for Harris, Vowing to Reclaim the Voice of the Cryptocurrency IndustryAccording to a report by Fox Business, the initiative called Crypto for Harris currently has 50 members, mainly composed of industry professionals and policy experts.
Jonathan Padilla, CEO of the Web3 marketing company Snickerdoodle, stated, "The United States must continue to be a leader in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, and organizations like Crypto for Harris are working to ensure the right policies and dialogues are in place to achieve this outcome. While many cryptocurrency enthusiasts chose Trump, the Democrats will make 40 million Americans who own cryptocurrency believe that Trump and the Republicans are not the party of cryptocurrency. "We're not going to leave this issue to Trump."
Democratic National Committee Representative Wiley Nickel said, "We want to encourage innovation and protect consumers, but allowing cryptocurrency to become a political issue will only set America back further." Harris has added two cryptocurrency advisors in the past week, David Plouffe, who previously served on the advisory board of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, and Gene Sperling, a former board member of the blockchain payment company Ripple.
Moe Vela, former Biden advisor and current senior advisor at the cryptocurrency company Unicoin, said, "Having experts in cryptocurrencies like Plouffe and Sperling join her campaign is a more powerful statement than just pandering to the industry at a Bitcoin conference for votes."
Industry Professionals Believe Democrats Should Be Held Accountable for Warren's ActionsHowever, some cryptocurrency industry professionals believe that Vice President Kamala Harris should be held responsible for the strict regulations imposed by the Biden administration over the past three years and the unfriendly behavior towards the cryptocurrency industry by Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren.
"Just like any organization, the Democratic Party is also diverse in thought and substance. While I value Senator Warren's perspective, the promise and potential of Web 3 are too important, too transformative to ignore," said Democratic California Senator Alejandro Padilla.
Anti-cryptocurrency Senator Elizabeth Warren has claimed that nations are using cryptocurrency to evade sanctions, a claim debunked by the crypto community.
