The cryptocurrency exchange Binance recently participated in and supported a virtual asset investigation course organized by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force to enhance law enforcement efforts in combating cybercrime in Hong Kong.
The CSTCB held a five-day training program on January 30 at the Hong Kong Police Headquarters, attended by representatives from the Hong Kong Police, the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, aiming to enhance knowledge in the field of virtual assets and strengthen capabilities in the prevention and investigation of related crimes.
Experts from Binance's law enforcement training and investigation team also conducted training sessions focusing on cryptocurrency investigations, covering case studies on cryptocurrency-related investigative techniques and examples of how Binance assists law enforcement agencies in criminal investigations.
Jarek Jakubcek, Director of Law Enforcement Training at Binance, stated, "Safeguarding user security has always been a top priority for Binance. By enhancing international cybersecurity, we are committed to building a secure blockchain ecosystem. Collaboration with law enforcement agencies and officials is crucial, and we are pleased to cooperate with the Hong Kong Police Force. As Binance continues to work towards excluding bad actors from the digital ecosystem, we are excited about the collaborative relationships we are establishing in this process."
In 2022, Binance officially announced its global law enforcement training program and has conducted over 70 law enforcement workshops, demonstrating its commitment to combating digital financial and cybercrime. Going forward, Binance will continue to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies and cyber investigation departments worldwide, providing training programs and organizing seminars to enhance cybersecurity in the blockchain and digital asset industry.
