Poll: Over 70% of Salvadorans believe Bitcoin law has not brought any benefits

According to a recent survey conducted by the José Simeón Cañas Central American University's Institute of Public Opinion Research on the Salvadoran people's views on the implementation of the Bitcoin Law in the country, the results show that the majority of Salvadorans believe that adopting Bitcoin as legal tender has not improved their personal economic situation.

The survey titled "Citizen Evaluation: The Third Year of Nayib Bukele's Presidency" was conducted by the Institute of Public Opinion of the Central American University and examined Bukele's administration, with a total of 1,272 citizens surveyed.

When asked about the benefits of the Bitcoin Law, which approves the use of Bitcoin as legal tender in the country, only 6.1% of respondents said Bitcoin has brought them many benefits, while a significant 71.1% believe Bitcoin has not brought them any benefits. 12.8% think the measure has almost no benefit for their economic situation, and 8.9% believe the Bitcoin Law has at least brought some benefits to their personal finances.

Overall, after more than three years of Bukele's presidency, the majority of people approve of his performance. 45% of respondents see crime as the main issue in the country, while 45% see the economy as the main problem. 68% approve of Bukele's government, believing that he represents positive change for the country.

Regarding the economy, 46% of respondents believe there has been improvement, 30% think it has worsened, and 23% believe the situation has remained the same.

Although most Salvadorans do not see any failures in Bukele's government, the approval of the Bitcoin Law and Bukele's investment in Bitcoin rank as the third failed project, with 3.9% of respondents considering the Bitcoin Law as negative.
