Brian Brooks served at Binance US for only 4 months. During the Trump administration, Brian Brooks served as the Acting Comptroller of the Currency at the U.S. national bank regulator, the OCC. During his tenure, he actively promoted crypto regulatory reform and frequently met with industry insiders, from corporate CEOs to entrepreneurs in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector.

Zhao Changpeng stated that Brian Brooks' departure will not affect Binance US, saying, "I have full confidence in Binance.US's business and commitment to serving our customers."

Binance is known for hiring top executives from well-known regulatory bodies worldwide to strengthen its strategic deployment. Apart from Brian Brooks, Ricardo Da Ros, a director at Binance Brazil, resigned last month after six months in the role, which was also unexpected.
