X Twitter Official: SEC Account Leak Not Related to Platform, No Two-Factor Authentication Enabled

The X Security Department tweeted that the SEC account leak incident has been preliminarily investigated. It was not due to a breach in the X system, but rather an unknown individual had access to the phone number associated with the SEC Twitter account.

Through a third-party account, X also confirmed that the SEC account did not have two-factor authentication enabled when it was compromised.

X urged all users to enable two-factor authentication and for more information, visit the Help Center.
