Market Will Naturally Progress Towards Crypto ETFs
After the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved an Ethereum spot ETF, the market has become more optimistic about the possibility of launching spot ETFs for other mainstream competing coins. Brad Garlinghouse mentioned XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) in an interview, comparing them to commodities and stating that they should not be classified as securities.
He stated:
No one wants to hold just one commodity. If you hold gold, you might also want exposure to silver and other assets. That's reasonable.

Optimistic about XRP, SOL, ADA Becoming ETFs
Last week at the CoinDesk Consensus conference, Brad Garlinghouse pointed out that cryptocurrencies like XRP, SOL, and ADA will inevitably launch ETFs in the future.
Despite facing regulatory obstacles such as SEC lawsuits, Brad Garlinghouse believes that the regulatory environment is undergoing positive changes, especially with other countries like the UK, Japan, Singapore, and Switzerland leading ahead of the U.S., which may prompt the U.S. to make changes.
He also discussed the political aspects influencing the cryptocurrency market, including growing interest from political figures such as the Trump campaign team, indicating significant changes:
I think cryptocurrency has become a political issue, which is crazy, but I think the Republicans are very strategic in handling this issue. It is becoming an election issue, which is beneficial for the industry as a whole, and I think it is also driving market development.

Competing Coin ETFs Still Not Favored
The possibility of launching ETFs for competing coins is still not favored.
Bitcoin and Ethereum only launched spot ETFs after the introduction of futures contracts on the CME. In May, market news indicated that CME did not plan to introduce SOL contracts.
Additionally, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart has previously stated that the SEC not only brought a lawsuit against XRP regarding its status as a security but also indicated that SOL is a security in lawsuits involving Kraken and Coinbase.
He believes that a SOL ETF will happen, but it may be many years down the road.
