Dorsey Steps Down from Bluesky Board
Bluesky, the decentralized social media initiative officially launched in February this year, was backed by Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter now renamed as X. It emphasizes user-led content quality and sources, allowing users to control their own user experience. This aligns with Dorsey's pursuit of a Platonic ideal, which is services without central control.
However, Dorsey recently confirmed on X that he has stepped down from the Bluesky board.
Bluesky is now open for registration, and its unique review mechanism allows users to customize their social experience.
Promoting the Benefits of Open Internet Protocols
Jack Dorsey also promoted his charitable donations towards open internet protocols on X, describing it as "free technology." He told everyone:
Don't rely on companies to grant you rights; use free technology to protect yourself.
He also replied in a discussion with netizens: "The only way to truly fix platforms like X is to use open protocols, and companies can also build on this foundation."
don’t depend on corporations to grant you rights.
defend them yourself using freedom technology.(you’re on one)

Earlier this month, Dorsey donated $21 million to the non-profit organization OpenSats, which focuses on Bitcoin development. He stated that this is to provide more long-term funding for open protocols.
Improving Relationship with Musk?
On X, Dorsey's list of interests includes only three people, one of whom is Musk. This has led the media to speculate on the change in his relationship with Musk, as Dorsey posted on Bluesky a year ago stating that "everything went bad" after Musk took over Twitter and made extensive changes to the platform!
