Curve Hacker Returns $12.4 Million
According to on-chain data, the attacker of Curve Finance has returned a large sum of stolen funds. The hacker first returned around 4,820 alETH to Alchemix Finance. After returning the alETH, the hacker proceeded to return 2,258 ETH to the Alchemix Finance wallet, totaling approximately $12.4 million in digital assets. The price of alETH is around 1730, and the price of ETH is around 1840.
Hacker Clarifies Refund Motive Not Out of Fear
Earlier, Curve attempted to communicate with the hacker, urging the return of the funds and offering a 10% reward.
The attacker of Curve Finance sent a transaction containing a message about the motive behind the refund, directly refuting community speculation about their actions.
They wrote: "I've seen some ridiculous views, so I want to clarify that I'm not returning the funds because you can find me, but because I don't want to ruin your project. Maybe this is a lot of money for many people, but not for me. I'm smarter than all of you, damn it!"
