I came back in, and now I'm out again! Musk will not join Twitter's board
After it was discovered that Elon Musk held a 9.2% stake in Twitter, Tesla CEO Musk was even appointed to join Twitter's board last Tuesday (5). However, just 2 days after his official appointment, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced today that Musk will no longer be part of the board.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal Discusses Musk's Exit
Elon Musk has decided not to join the Twitter board. Here is the sequence of events as I can share them:
The board and I had many discussions about Elon joining the board, as well as direct conversations with Elon. We were excited about the opportunity to work together and believed that having Elon as one of our trustees, he would, like all board members, be dedicated to serving the company and all shareholders to the best of his ability. This was a great direction, and a seat was offered to Elon on the board.
We appointed Elon to the board on Tuesday, with the official start date scheduled for 4/9. However, that same morning, Elon indicated that he would not be joining the board. I believe this is for the best. We have always and will always value shareholder feedback, whether or not the shareholder is a board member. Elon is our largest shareholder, and Twitter will continue to listen to his input.
There are always obstacles on the road ahead, but our goals and priorities remain unchanged. Our decisions and direction are in our own hands, and we will focus on our work and what we are building, disregarding distractions.
