Bitcoin Core Developer Influences ORDI Price

Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dashjr continues to respond to widespread criticism on Twitter following his astonishing remarks on December 6th.

Will Ordinals and other BRC20 tokens be killed off? Developer vows to fix Bitcoin bug next year, causing a stir in the Bitcoin community.

Luke Dashjr's tweets have been influencing the price of ORDI in recent days.

He later stated that it is not necessary to eliminate all inscriptions to preserve Bitcoin, causing ORDI to rise again. However, the discussion is premised on miners choosing to continue running versions that allow inscriptions.

Additionally, Bitcoin supporter James Lopp also commented, questioning whether nodes run by major corporations, which naturally seek to maximize profits, would want to block inscriptions.

Dashjr further stated that they should reconsider why they are using non-profitable mining pools and still choose to harm Bitcoin.

Luke Dashjr: Ordinals Are a Scam

In the afternoon of December 7th, Dashjr responded to the community again, stating that the Ordinals protocol is a scam.

This caused another sharp drop in ORDI price.

ORDI Surges and Plummets, BTC Dips Below 43,000

Following Dashjr's statement on the evening of the 6th that "not all inscriptions need to be eliminated," ORDI hit a new all-time high of $69.76.

However, it later retraced by about -25%, dropping to $51.8. Bitcoin also briefly dropped to $42,846 before rebounding to $43,230 at the time of writing.

dForce Founder: Speak Nicely

dForce founder Mindy Yang mentioned the increasingly severe attacks on Luke Dashjr by the Chinese-speaking crypto community.

She brought up the past profanity of Bitmain founder Wu Jihan during the Bitcoin fork wars a few years ago, urging everyone not to speak ill of Luke Dashjr:

Core developers in the Bitcoin community are like an invisible council, guarding Bitcoin's original values. Some people naively believe that miners have more power. If miners could decide Bitcoin's future, Bitcoin would not be what it is today. Besides, Luke Dashjr alone cannot do much. If you keep cursing, the originalists will unite, and it won't be fun anymore.
