During a policy presentation, Wu Hsin-ying, the vice presidential candidate of the People's Party in Taiwan, discussed the issue of cryptocurrency for the first time in the presidential election. She mentioned that fraud is rampant in Taiwan, and most illegal proceeds are transferred through cryptocurrencies. She believes that Taiwan's outdated personal information protection laws should be improved by adopting the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to safeguard the personal information of the public and align with international regulations.
