Dogecoin Community is Not the Enemy! ShapeShift Founder Discusses "Bitcoin Extremists": Feels Disgusted

Bitcoin extremists often go to great lengths to defend their positions. ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees, who transitioned his exchange into a decentralized platform earlier this year, finds this "a bit nauseating."

Bitcoin Extremists

Bitcoin extremists generally believe that other competing cryptocurrencies are inferior to Bitcoin, which goes against the original vision set by Satoshi Nakamoto. They view Bitcoin as the only digital asset needed in the future.

Later, Bitcoin extremists evolved into "Toxic Bitcoin Maxis," who strongly criticize others' tokens and spread unnecessary hatred.

ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees was interviewed on the "Unchained Podcast" on 7/27, where he expressed shame and disgust towards the behavior and statements of Bitcoin extremists and Toxic Maxis at the Bitcoin conference held in Miami this year.

He mentioned that the extremists he referred to were mostly "Toxic Bitcoin Maxis."

You Can't Be Anti-Bitcoin

Erik Voorhees attended the Miami Bitcoin conference and was invited to speak on stage. He recalled a peculiar conversation before he went on stage:

If you are against Bitcoin extremists, you are equivalent to being against Bitcoin, and at the same time, against freedom.

Erik criticized:

This is a ridiculous doctrine. I almost laughed at that moment, and then I realized he was serious. It was as if he was telling everyone that if you don't attack communities of other projects, you are against freedom.

Erik stated that these extremists have begun to believe that destroying those with different opinions is an acceptable behavior that benefits Bitcoin, which made him feel ashamed and disgusted.

The Central Bank Is the Real Enemy

Erik pointed out that these individuals shared the benefits of being a "Toxic Bitcoin Maxis" on stage. He was unsure of when these people emerged in the Bitcoin community, but they are definitely not from the community he knows.

He further emphasized:

If Bitcoin and Bitcoin extremists have real enemies, they would be central banks, traditional banks, and fiat currencies, rather than the Dogecoin or Ethereum communities.

However, he also warned that the concept of "Toxic Maxis" is gradually fermenting in the Ethereum community, although it is still a small part, he is concerned that it will grow over time.
