Musk: I never said to invest in cryptocurrencies, supporting Dogecoin is influenced by less wealthy people

At the Qatar Economic Forum organized by Bloomberg, Tesla founder Elon Musk was invited to attend an interview. During the conversation, Musk discussed the current issue of acquiring Twitter and expressed his views on investing in cryptocurrency and Dogecoin.

Regarding the Acquisition of Twitter

This interview was hosted by Bloomberg's Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, discussing the highly anticipated Twitter acquisition. The following are key points from the conversation.

John: Does Twitter provide you with enough information regarding the acquisition process?

Musk mentioned that there are still unresolved issues with Twitter, such as Twitter's claim that fake accounts and scam users only make up 5% of the platform, which does not align with the majority of users' experience, and they are still awaiting resolution.

In addition, Musk also brought up two other unresolved issues, including the integration of debts and whether shareholders would approve the acquisition.

John: Will acquiring Twitter bring you trouble with your business in China?

"Although Twitter cannot be used in China, there is no attempt from China to interfere with the freedom of speech of American media, so it is not an issue," Musk said.

John: You have mentioned making Twitter's freedom of speech more open to attract more users. Are there any restrictions when allowing people to use Twitter?

In terms of Twitter's vision, Musk hopes that Twitter can be as inclusive as possible in the broader direction and serve as an attractive system. Ideally, it should be able to attract 80% of North American people or half of the global population to use it. Therefore, Twitter must be appealing, and users should not feel uncomfortable or harassed.

John: Would you become the CEO of Twitter, and if so, would you still be the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX?

"I would drive product launches, which is what I do at SpaceX and Tesla. Whether I am called CEO or another position is not that important," Musk said.

Regarding the U.S. Presidential Election

John: Will you support Trump in the next U.S. election?

"I don't think I have made a decision yet for the next election," Musk said.

Regarding Cryptocurrency

John: Do you still believe people should invest in cryptocurrency, or is it a viable option?

Musk stated that he never said people should invest in cryptocurrency. In the cases of Tesla, SpaceX, and his own investment in Bitcoin, the investment amount only accounts for a small portion of cash or cash-like assets, with little impact.

Additionally, Musk mentioned that he has purchased some Dogecoin, and Tesla also supports using Dogecoin to purchase some goods.

The reason Musk is willing to support Dogecoin is influenced by many less wealthy individuals who encourage him to buy and support Dogecoin, and Musk chose to respond to this.
