BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes wrote a lengthy speculative story on January 6th.
He mentioned the concept of "Pax Americana," which refers to the world peace brought about by the dominance of the United States. A crucial part of this dominance is the supremacy of the US dollar, which operates in the traditional financial world.
In the world of cryptocurrency, challenging with new currencies and financial systems is not something that Pax Americana would welcome. Arthur Hayes believes that SBF is not interested in the spirit of cryptocurrency but merely wants to promote effective altruism. His elite American education background aligns with political correctness, and effective altruism is also elitism, which suits the taste of Pax Americana. Thus, they do not care about scrutiny until financial fraud is exposed.
In response, SBF surprisingly had time to reply:
"I strongly disagree with the accusations you made against FTX. However, I strongly agree with your macro view. This is a variant of something I've heard many times. You might be surprised by my actual views."
Arthur Hayes only replied, "Then say it, I'm listening." As of the deadline, SBF has not elaborated on his views.
I obviously disagree strongly with many of the specific FTX-related claims here, but:
I largely agree with your higher level point.
It's a variant on something I heard again and again oversees.
I think you might be a bit surprised by my perspective on it.
