The team behind the creation of the Bored Ape Yacht Club's NFT, Yuga Labs, launched a limited-time mobile game "Apes vs. Mutants" at the end of January this year. This casual game was available for free to all users and sparked lively discussions in the community at the time. However, after the game concluded, the development team behind it is now working on a new project. They are planning to launch Arcade, a Web3 social metaverse open to all NFT communities.

The Current Challenges of NFTs and Metaverse

Before delving into the topic, let's discuss three key issues facing NFTs and the metaverse:

  1. Most PFP projects lack practical utility
  2. There is no intersection between various metaverses, and not all NFTs are accepted
  3. Most metaverses are still in the development stage, with no definite timeline for actual launch

To address these challenges, an metaverse called "Arcade" has been created specifically for all NFT communities.

Apes vs. Mutants Game Team's Latest Creation ── Arcade

Arcade is a metaverse that combines social and GameFi elements, allowing users to engage in various activities with their favorite NFTs. Users can chat and interact with others, build homes, and earn token rewards while playing games in this world.

According to the official video, Arcade has partnered with several well-known blue-chip NFT projects, including mfer, CyberKongz, and Karafuru, among others.

How to Access Arcade?

Before entering Arcade, players need to select the NFT they want to play with from their wallets. If this NFT has been designed by the game team and has a custom pixel version for the game, users can mint it on the platform and use it in the game. These NFTs used in the game are called "ArcadeMe," symbolizing the user's identity in the metaverse.

Furthermore, each NFT project not only differs in appearance but also has unique attributes and abilities in Arcade games, allowing players to experience the uniqueness of their NFTs in the game. This creates value among different NFTs, beyond just being simple PFPs.

According to information released on the official Twitter, multiple NFTs can already be seen in the game, including BAYC, CryptoPunks, Meebits, Cool Cats, and Karafuru, among others.

However, owning an NFT is not a prerequisite for entering Arcade. The game team has thoughtfully created a default character for users who do not have NFTs to use in the game.

Playing with Various NFTs

Current games include an action RPG similar to Apes vs. Mutants and a racing game. The official team plans to launch the first official in-house game in Q2 this year and will introduce more PVE and PVP games in the future, as well as collaborate with third-party games in Arcade.

Additionally, after Arcade's official launch, an official token is expected to be introduced, and various tokens will be welcomed as currencies in the Arcade metaverse.

The official Arcade Twitter also announced that they will adopt the popular ApeCoin as the trading medium in the Arcade metaverse in the future.

Land Sale Initiation

As a metaverse that accommodates various NFTs, creating a home with friends is essential. In the world of Arcade, there are various sizes of land that will serve as social spaces for players to chat, interact, trade, and unleash creativity together.

Arcade's land is divided into four sizes, each with different capabilities and applications. Details on the differences will be announced gradually. However, it is guaranteed that the larger the land held, the more rewards received.

The table below shows the prices and quantities of each land, with the size of the land correlating with its rarity. The whitelist minting phase will start at 11 a.m. on April 1st (Taiwan time) and last for 24 hours, followed by the public sale starting at 11 a.m. on April 2nd until sold out.

Test Version Coming Soon
