The Associated Press Launches NFT Trading Marketplace

Amid the frenzy of brands and companies rushing into the NFT craze, The Associated Press is partnering with blockchain infrastructure company Xooa to establish an NFT trading marketplace on Polygon. Starting from January 31, a series of initial images from The Associated Press will be released over the course of a week, focusing on themes such as war, climate, and space.

"For 175 years, AP photographers have captured the world's greatest stories with gripping and poignant imagery that still resonates today," said Dwayne Desaulniers, Director of Blockchain and Data at The Associated Press.

These NFTs available for sale in the market will include a detailed set of native metadata, allowing collectors to learn about the time, date, location, equipment, and technical settings at the time of the capture.

"The focus in building this marketplace is to enable all types of collectors to join the community and share their stunning photographic works," said Zach Danker-Feldman, Market Lead at Xooa.

The Associated Press's NFT platform is now live and in the final stages. It is expected to support credit card and crypto payments, and allow for secondary market sales.
