The National Palace Museum will start issuing NFT products on March 16th. The first wave will collaborate with 8 well-known domestic original illustrators to release a series of joint NFT products, totaling 22 pieces in the form of NFT graphic artworks. By issuing NFT products through cross-border collaborations, the museum aims to promote its collection to the world, opening a new chapter for museum cultural and creative products and leading the trend of NFT art products domestically.

The first batch of original illustrators for this release was selected in cooperation with the Cultural Content Advancement Institute's "Taiwan Original Image Licensing International Expansion Program," which is a government-referred industry-university collaboration project. The selected proposals that have passed the review and will be launched include: the cute and healing "Corgi Pong Pong and Friends," the characters inspired by Taiwan's 16 indigenous tribes "Tawao Omasi," one of the elves from the "Gama" tribe, named after Taiwan's indigenous people who love the land, KURORO, Guinea Pig Mori Mori, Gashapon Chicken, Hoo Hoo Laboratory, and Octopus Bear, totaling 22 NFT products proposed by 8 creators. These NFT products feature unique characters that showcase Taiwan's integration of diverse cultural characteristics, combining modern illustration styles with traditional art and cultural elements. They reinterpret the treasures of the Palace Museum from an innovative perspective, presenting the original style of Taiwan's new generation of creators, embodying the best representation of the fusion of tradition and modernity. Each NFT product released by the Palace Museum is limited to one piece, each with an independent NFT product ID.

The release of the Palace Museum's NFT products is a collaboration with the domestic NFT trading platform Lootex, which will continue to launch related NFT products in the future. The Palace Museum stated that this collaboration not only represents the Palace Museum's cooperation with Lootex in leading museums to be active in the NFT market but also signifies that NFT exists as unique digital items. Perhaps in the future, museum collections will appear in the NFT market in various forms, providing possibilities for museum collections and museum experiences.
