Axie Infinity Economy Update: SLP Rewards Halved, Scholarship System Improved, Decentralized Exchange Planned

The blockchain game Axie Infinity, which claims to earn while playing, has generated a profit of 287 million in the past 30 days. This rapidly growing game is facing issues such as high server load and high entry barriers. The official statement indicates that the reason for adjusting the token economy is due to the disproportionate ratio between the production and burning of SLP tokens. The officials stated that the old system lacked a PvP system to incentivize high-skilled players to level up, resulting in many players staying at lower levels to cultivate beginners, making the game less engaging, and new players finding it difficult to earn SLP in the arena.

Axie Infinity stated in the announcement, "Although we rarely comment on the scholarship system, these adjustments may put pressure on the wages of the scholarship system. More time must be spent cultivating better apprentices to earn higher rewards."

Short-Term and Long-Term Updates: Breeding Fee Reduction, Axies Destruction, Exchange Listing

The officials mentioned that due to the considerably high breeding fees, they are considering reducing the required AXS. Similarly, if SLP continues to be in excess supply, there may be further increases in the amount of SLP needed for breeding. 8/11 Update: Breeding fee requiring AXS confirmed to be reduced to 2 AXS.

The Axie creatures will have a destruction mechanism to reduce their numbers. Players can destroy Axies to obtain materials, which can be used to upgrade lands, body parts, and land items.

In the long-term plan, Axie Infinity will launch its own decentralized exchange to gain greater liquidity.
