Holding NFTs allows participation in plot developments; Taiwanese animation artist pplpleasr promotes decentralized video platform "Shibuya"

Taiwanese animation artist pplpleasr revealed at the ETHDenver summit on 2/18 that she will launch a decentralized video platform called "Shibuya" which combines features of Netflix, Vimeo, and Kickstarter.

Shibuya

Currently, the Shibuya official website only has a homepage animation, and the official Twitter account has not released much information yet. According to a report by The Block, during a live stream at the ETHDenver summit starting at 7:14:15, users will be able to mint NFTs on the platform and use them to make decisions about the platform's content and storylines.

pplpleasr describes Shibuya as a decentralized video platform with features similar to Netflix, the original video platform Vimeo, and crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. She also refers to Shibuya as the decentralized Hollywood.

First Series: White Rabbit

The first series on Shibuya is called White Rabbit, which is an animated series incorporating elements from the British show "Black Mirror" and Web3. In the trailer, an Asian woman awakens in a field, and it ends with her facing two doors in a massive castle.

Each door represents a different outcome, and users need to mint NFTs on the platform to watch the series. They can also vote on the storyline direction through NFTs, and voting will earn them White Rabbit tokens.

Shibuya has not accepted external funding yet, and participants include digital artist Maciej Kuciara. The platform is set to launch officially on March 1st this year.
