Oorbit partners with LG to bring immersive metaverse experience to TVs

South Korean IT and entertainment giant LG continues to delve into the blockchain market. Following the launch of the NFT marketplace LG Art Lab in September last year, LG has partnered with the metaverse platform company Oorbit to bring immersive games and experiences to users on high-definition smart TVs, allowing consumers to easily interact in the metaverse.

Oorbit

Oorbit, founded in 2021 and based in London, is dedicated to creating components that connect the 3D virtual world, providing services related to the metaverse. Oorbit's platform aims to serve as a bridge to the metaverse, where users will have a unique digital identity and can navigate between different virtual worlds without the need for downloads or additional hardware.

Through LG's smart TVs, more people can easily visit the metaverse. Ash Koosha, CEO of Oorbit, stated:

Imagine a map you pick up in a game being your backstage pass at a concert. The virtual worlds connected through Oorbit can enable transferable digital ownership. Our goal is to allow users to access infinite streaming entertainment content through the devices they already own, and our collaboration with LG will greatly accelerate this goal.

Utilizing cloud streaming technology, Oorbit users will be able to enjoy high-quality virtual worlds and experiences, including Pixelynx's Elynxir virtual concerts and Auxuman's Auxworld AI-generated multiplayer role-playing games, among others.

NFT Marketplace LG Art Lab

Last September, LG collaborated with the public chain project Hedera to launch the NFT marketplace LG Art Lab on smart TVs. Users can download LG Art Lab from the TV's main screen, then browse and trade NFT artworks through the program. Users simply need to scan the QR code on the screen and then open LG's wallet Wallypto on their phone to easily complete the transaction. The high-definition screen also allows collectors to showcase their NFT artworks at home.
