Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has released a roadmap for NFTs on Facebook and Instagram, and both platforms will also have a more direct revenue-sharing model with creators. It can be seen that Meta is more actively promoting the short video market.

According to Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook post, he stated that by next year, he will bring more diverse ways for creators on the Facebook and Instagram platforms to generate income, including pay-per-view online events, subscriptions, Top Fan Badges, and the Bulletin newsletter.

Interactive Subscription

Allow subscribers from other platforms to participate in Facebook groups that are exclusive to subscribers only.

Facebook Stars

Stars were initially introduced in 2018 for subscription services and expanded in 2020, allowing users to tip creators with Stars for their live streams. For each Star received, Facebook pays 0.01 USD, and the comments from Star senders are highlighted in gold.

Zuckerberg emphasized that this feature will be open to all eligible creators, enabling more creators to earn revenue from their short Reels videos, live streams, or VOD content that is not live.

Short Video Reels

Currently, Facebook has invited select creators to participate in the Reels bonus program, which will be expanded to more users in the future. Additionally, Instagram Reels can also be cross-posted to Facebook for increased earnings.

Creator Marketplace Platform

Instagram is testing a new section where users can discover a wide range of creators, who can receive tips and share new business collaboration opportunities with major brand fan pages.

Digital Collectibles

Zuckerberg stated that NFT testing on Instagram is expanding, starting on Instagram and eventually introducing NFTs through select U.S. creators on Facebook. Users will also be able to publish on both Instagram and Facebook.

Reports in early May indicated that Instagram's NFT feature will support Ethereum, Polygon, with plans for Flow and Solana in the future.
