Beginner's Guide to Otherside: Descriptive Game Experience, Co-development with Community, In-game Marketplace Agora

The "Maiden Voyage" of the virtual world game project Otherside by BAYC was successfully completed on the evening of the 17th, and after the event, the official team also released a Litepaper as a game guide. Otherside Beginner's Guide

According to the Litepaper content, Otherside is envisioned as a platform where users can play, create, compete, and explore together. The initial gaming experience is being developed by Yuga Labs and Improbable, based on M² technology.

Development Phases

Otherside's development is expected to be divided into three phases. In the current first phase, only holders of otherdeed, referred to as Voyagers, and selected third-party developers can participate and contribute.

This phase's storyline is divided into 11 parts, focusing on the mysterious obelisk that appears in the Otherside universe. Voyagers can team up to explore various features of the game, participate in exclusive events and game tests, and become co-developers of the Otherside Development Kit (ODK) to help shape its core functionalities.

Three Development Principles

1. Co-Creation with the Community

The development of Otherside will be open and transparent, allowing Voyagers to not only participate in game testing but also provide feedback using software development kits or in-game building tools.

2. Real Ownership and Interactivity

Otherdeed NFTs represent more than just land images; they signify participation eligibility in game testing. Additionally, each Otherdeed represents a piece of land available in Otherside with unique natural elements, resources, attributes, etc. As a Voyager, you will have true ownership and control, enabling you to make decisions as you see fit.

In the future, Otherside will unlock more interactive possibilities, allowing Voyagers to bring external collections and NFTs into the Otherside universe, even connecting lands to share creations and experiences.

3. Genuine Incentives and Support

Otherside aims to establish deep connections with its user base and collaborate with well-known and respected entities in the industry to provide the education, experience, and leadership needed to build the metaverse in the future.

Voyager's Journey

All Voyagers are invited to embark on a journey together to understand the fundamentals of Otherside, with the entire experience narratively driven. Voyagers who complete each stage experience in accordance with the rules will qualify for additional rewards related to Otherside in the future.

The "First Voyage" concluded on July 17th (Taiwan Time), and subsequent voyages will take place on different dates, accommodating as many Voyagers as possible. Specific details about departure times will be announced on Otherside's social media.

Introduction to Otherside Development Kit (ODK)

The Otherside Development Kit is a set of "creation tools" developed in collaboration with Improbable, allowing users to create interactive content for Otherside, primarily categorized into three types:

• Personnel: Including accounts, friend lists, and identities in Otherside.
• Locations: Worlds that can be traversed through the game system.
• Objects: Items carried in different locations, wearable equipment, avatars, etc.

As Otherside is built by developers and Voyagers together, adherence to its development standards is necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Otherside Trading Market Agora

Agora is the trading market under development for Otherside, where various items can be classified, selected, bought, and sold, used to create or earn profits in the game. The goal is to make Agora the fastest, simplest, and safest place to participate in and enjoy the economic benefits of Otherside.

Ecosystem Token ApeCoin

ApeCoin is the primary token of the Otherside ecosystem, controlled by the ApeCoin DAO community. ApeCoin trading is available on major decentralized or centralized exchanges, and all ApeCoin holders are members of the ApeCoin DAO.

The Journey is Just Beginning

As the Otherside journey progresses, the team will gradually update its Litepaper content, which will eventually be replaced by The Codex Phase 2 Journey and the Otherside Dynamic Documentation.
