Adidas' debut NFT sale rakes in nearly 6,000 ETH, surpassing Axie Infinity in trading volume
Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and adidas launched a collaborative NFT collection called "Into The Universe" on December 17 at 13:00 EST. Despite a temporary pause in the whitelist sale process, it quickly sold out upon resumption, with the floor price on the Opensea secondary market reaching 0.82 ETH.

Casting Interruption
Adidas official Twitter account pointed out in the early hours that whitelist sales have not been suspended, but there is an issue where MAYC NFT holders cannot cast, so casting will be temporarily suspended and updated as soon as possible. The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) official also tweeted that they are in contact with Adidas officials for assistance.
The limited edition "Into The Universe," with 30,000 available, of which 20,000 will be prioritized for whitelist-qualified users. Before the casting was paused, 9,255 NFTs had been cast.
Adidas later stated that all users with failed transactions will be able to cast again once the platform is restored. Detailed information will be collected and costs will be covered for all users who incurred Gas fees as a result.
An hour later, the official announcement was made to restart whitelist sales.

Secondary Market Heating Up
The 30,000 "Into The Universe" brought in 5,924 ETH for Adidas, equivalent to $23 million. Adidas did not disclose whether they will hold the ETH or convert it to fiat currency.
The popularity of "Into The Universe" also pushed adidas Originals ahead of Axie Infinity, which has long dominated the NFT trading volume charts. According to data from Cryptoslam, the 24-hour trading volume of "Into The Universe" exceeded 18 million ETH, far surpassing Axie's 7.65 million ETH.
Furthermore, the original price of 0.2 ETH for "Into The Universe" quickly doubled in the secondary market after the public sale ended. The average price on Opensea rose from 0.5 ETH to 0.76 ETH, and the floor price is currently at 0.82 ETH.
