Amazon CEO Interview: Not holding any cryptocurrency but optimistic about the growing ecosystem, not ruling out the possibility of platform integrating with NFTs.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated in an interview with CNBC that although he does not hold any cryptocurrency or NFTs, he is optimistic about the future development of both. Amazon also does not rule out the possibility of integrating with NFTs in the future.

Optimistic Outlook on the Crypto Space

During an interview with CNBC, Andy Jassy stated:

We have not considered integrating cryptocurrencies as a payment mechanism in our sales business, but I believe that over time, the crypto space will expand significantly, including NFTs. I can imagine a future where Amazon integrates with NFTs, making it possible to sell NFTs on the platform.

Overall, Andy Jassy maintains Amazon's stance from last year when the UK Business Insider reported that Amazon would start accepting Bitcoin payments by the end of 2021 and subsequently support eight cryptocurrencies including Ethereum, Cardano, and Bitcoin Cash.

Amazon later denied this news entirely, with a spokesperson stating that the company has no plans to accept Bitcoin payments. While Amazon is interested in the crypto space, the speculated direction by outsiders is not accurate.
