Taiwanese animator pplpleasr's work lands on the cover of Fortune magazine, surpassing Jay-Z to rank in NFT 50
DeFi artist pplpleasr from Taiwan has achieved another milestone by having her work featured on the cover of the Fortune Magazine September issue. The artwork contains hidden symbols that only those in the cryptocurrency circle would understand; she also surpassed Jay-Z in the NFT Top 50 list, ranking fifth in the current issue.

The cover of this issue is titled "Crypto vs. Wall Street: Decentralized Cryptocurrency vs. Wall Street - How a well-funded tech legion behind centralized finance is planning to reshape the financial system."
The artwork featured on the cover, by pplpleasr, depicts a building resembling bamboo in a city at night, with a sliced surface revealing another city inside, filled with various cryptocurrency symbols: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Compound, Aave, Uniswap, SushiSwap, Three Arrows Capital, and more. It symbolizes how DeFi has already built another community within the existing city.
pplpleasr also thanked Fortune Magazine and friends on Twitter, mentioning that the physical magazine will be available globally next week.

Top 50 NFT Personalities
Fortune Magazine has listed the top 50 personalities related to NFTs, with pplpleasr ranking fifth, following the American artist Beeple, the CryptoPunk NFT project, the creators of CryptoKitties, NBA Top Shot, and Roham Gharegozlou, CEO of Dapper Labs on the Flow blockchain. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, ranks ahead of pplpleasr, while renowned singer Jay-Z, who sold high-priced NFTs at Sotheby's, follows pplpleasr.
According to the NFT 50 list, pplpleasr's real name is Emily Yang. Before entering the DeFi space, she was involved in many well-known animation productions. She created a teaser trailer for Uniswap v3 and animations for Yearn, SushiSwap, Pickle, among others. Her favorite NFT artist is Maciej Kuciar, and her favorite NFT collection is her own Apes Together Strong.
