First to ascend to the NFT art hall of Art Blocks, artist Wang Xinren: "This is my glory with Taiwan"

Taiwanese artist Wang Hsin-jen, also known as Aluan, will auction off his NFT artwork "Good Vibrations" on August 22nd at 00:00. This marks the first time a Taiwanese artist has been featured on the NFT art platform Art Blocks.

The Artistic NFT Haven Preferred by Connoisseurs: Art Blocks

Many in the cryptocurrency community will readily admit that they buy and sell NFTs mostly for investment purposes. Looking at the historical data of NFTs, the top three in terms of trading volume are the play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, the symbol of crypto wealth CryptoPunks, and the highly speculative NBA Top Shot collectible cards. However, the fourth spot is taken by a project that appears to have a high artistic element, "Art Blocks," which is a platform dedicated to Generative Art, a form of derived art. If one were to point out where the most valued NFT artworks can be found, it would be Art Blocks.

Assistant Professor Ge Ru-Jun from Taipei Tech, who has been closely following the development of NFTs in Taiwan, describes it as follows:

Art Blocks is currently the most popular and valuable series of NFT collections.

He explains that the works on Art Blocks are curated by founder Jeff Davis, who gathers a group of renowned artists to form a selection committee to carefully choose derivative artworks from creators around the world. The highest recorded sale for a single piece is Chromie Squiggle, #3784, which was sold for 750 ETH, initially purchased for only $25.

Ge Ru-Jun finds the most intriguing aspect of Art Blocks' works is that they are like a series of blind boxes of random art created by algorithmic artists. Through a fair and transparent algorithm, they produce exceptional pieces that are one in a million (even the artists themselves cannot predict what the final piece will look like!).

First Taiwanese Artist Selected, Wang Xin-Ren: This is My Honor and Taiwan's Glory

Wang Xin-Ren, also known as Aluan, who has been devoted to digital art creation for over a decade, has been invited by Art Blocks to auction his NFT artwork "Good Vibrations" on August 22, 00:00 UTC.

Excitedly, Wang Xin-Ren expressed, "After joining the Art Blocks community, I discovered that they are indeed a group of crypto veterans. If there are elites in a group, I accidentally joined the community of elite crypto artists." He believes that this valuable opportunity is not only significant to him personally but also meaningful for Taiwan.

He revealed that after Art Blocks announced his selection, his works on other platforms were quickly swept up, and foreign collectors began to speculate. He jokingly said, "In fact, I have hidden some details and meanings in my works, invisibly spreading them throughout the world through encryption technology."

"Good Vibrations": A Time-based Audiovisual Creation

Wang Xin-Ren explained that "Good Vibrations" is one of his non-commercial series created since 2013. He aims to bring sound and image together in a time-based musical composition for Art Blocks. This piece is generated by an algorithm uploaded to Ethereum, producing sound and images. Compared to traditional NFTs, it has variability and randomness. Based on observations of Wang Xin-Ren's past works, they often contain interactive elements and symbols, which may be revealed in due course.

Wang Xin-Ren told us that "Good Vibrations" is actually inspired by a line from the Japanese manga "Oyasumi Punpun," where the cult leader often says, "Good Vibration," expressing that vibrations and energy in the universe are positive. He finds it interesting that this concept has always been present in our lives, with similar ideas mentioned by Einstein and Eastern philosophy.

Using Dutch Auction, 25% Donated to Open Source Foundation

"Good Vibrations" will be auctioned using a Dutch auction format, with the price decreasing over time, starting at 1.559 ETH and potentially available for as low as 0.159 ETH, but it may sell out at any time, in tribute to the Ethereum EIP-1559 proposal. Wang Xin-Ren mentioned that 25% of the auction proceeds will be donated to the open-source foundation Processing Foundation to give back to the digital art creation community.
