NFTGo indicator upgrade: Discovering Alpha through blue-chip indicators and holder trends
This article is authorized for repost by NFTGo.
The Blue-Chip Metric and Holder Trends Metric are important data indicators for analyzing the success of an NFT project. By using the Blue-Chip Metric on the NFTGo.io website, combined with data from whale users (including whale volume), users can understand the situation of holders in different collections from multiple perspectives and make investment decisions rationally.

Blue-Chip Indicator
What is a Blue-Chip Collection
A Blue-Chip Collection refers to projects that are stable, well-known, and are likely to hold or increase in value over a certain period in the future.
Blue-Chip Collections are selected by the NFTGo team based primarily on the following two criteria:
- They rank high in trading volume on the NFTGo platform and have maintained a high floor price over the past month.
- They lead in their respective subcategories, such as PROOF Collective in the NFT utility and PASS area, Nouns in the CC0 protocol, or The Sandbox LAND and Decentraland LAND in the metaverse category.
Blue-Chip Index
The NFTGo Analytics/Overview Page has added a section for the "Blue-Chip Index," which calculates the market value of Blue-Chip projects to assess the market performance of Blue-Chip NFTs.
Blue-Chip Project Holders and Ratios
In addition to the "Blue-Chip Index" section, the Analytics/Top Collection Page has introduced a new data indicator to track the number of Blue-Chip project holders and their percentage changes, evaluating the Blue-Chip ratio of different collections and providing a ranking to view the projects with the highest Blue-Chip ratio.

Blue-Chip Projects
To facilitate quick identification by users, we have designated special markers for Blue-Chip projects.
How to Find the Next Alpha?
Potential Blue-Chip Projects
By calculating the "Blue-Chip Project Holders" and "Whales" indicators, we can preliminarily assess whether a collection has the potential to become a Blue-Chip project. For a more accurate prediction, the collection's holders can be compared with those of Blue-Chip projects to analyze if there are overlapping holders in both collections.
For example, if you are deciding between FEWOCiOUS x FewoWorld and Kaiju Mutants NFT, unsure of which one to buy. By comparing the data, we can see that the number of holders and floor prices for both projects are similar. However, in the holders of FEWOCiOUS x FewoWorld, the percentage of Blue-Chip project holders (33.03%) and Whales (1.81%) is significantly higher, and there are also more users who hold Blue-Chip projects like CLONE X, Cool Cats, The Sandbox, compared to Kaiju Mutants NFT.
*Note: The above example does not constitute investment advice.
Holder Trends Metric
To provide users with a more intuitive interactive experience, we have introduced an upgraded holder chart, adding a "Blue-Chip Project Holders" section for users to comprehensively analyze Whales, Blue-Chip project holders, and general holder data on the same interface.
Additionally, we have changed the "Holding Amount/Period Distribution" from a pie chart to a line chart on the holder data interface to help users analyze trends in holder distribution over different time periods. For instance, if a project has many long-term users and shows overall positive development trends, its long-term value may be relatively stable.
Furthermore, at the bottom of the holder data interface, we have added sections for "Top Holder Rankings," "Whale Rankings," and "Blue-Chip Project Holder Rankings" to help users analyze holder data across different categories, evaluate project investability, and potentially bring investment profits to users.
