One of the prominent figures in the Taiwan NFT scene, Brother Machi, Huang Licheng, announced last Saturday on Twitter his withdrawal from the NFT field with a post full of boring apes, even setting it as a pinned tweet at one point. However, this has since been removed, and the pinned tweet is now another post featuring a boring ape avatar. Upon checking Huang Licheng's wallet, it was discovered that his holdings in Yuga Labs' NFT ecosystem have indeed decreased significantly, leading to a loss of several million US dollars due to the drop in minimum prices.

Big Brother Ma Ji Calls It Quits on NFTs, How Many Bored Apes Are Left in the Wallet?

Despite the shocking announcement on social media, a look at his wallet through Blur reveals a significant number of Yuga Labs ecosystem NFTs still in his possession. Here are the details:

  1. Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC): 60 / 50 listed, with a total value of approximately below 3328 ETH calculated at the lowest price.
  2. Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC): 24 / all listed, with a total value of around 288 ETH.
  3. Otherside Koda: 10 / all listed, with a total value of about 85 ETH.
  4. Otherdeed: 3 / all listed, with a total value of around 4 ETH.

In total, all Yuga Labs ecosystem NFTs are worth at least 3705 ETH, approximately $7.8 million. Huang Licheng remains a true monkey whale, but compared to his past wallets with hundreds of BAYC and MAYC, the holdings have indeed decreased significantly.

Big Brother Ma Ji Also Loses Money, Over $2 Million Loss Due to Price Drop

Recently, the price of BAYC plummeted significantly due to a whale selling event, dropping by about 10% in a week from 60 ETH to around 54 ETH, with other NFT series also experiencing substantial declines.

According to NFTGo's data, the drop in prices has put Huang Licheng's NFT holdings in the red, with an unrealized loss of about 886 ETH for BAYC, 174 ETH for MAYC, and a total loss of 1068 ETH, approximately $2.24 million for Yuga Labs ecosystem NFTs. This downturn has certainly come at a cost for Big Brother Ma Ji.

However, compared to the profits Huang Licheng has made in the past from Yuga Labs ecosystem NFTs, these losses seem insignificant, considering his realized profits totaling a whopping 3,055 ETH, approximately $6.4 million.
