1. Worker (Lowest Risk, Lowest Return)

Since entering the game requires a minimum of 3 Axies and a minimum cost of 0.3 ETH to start playing, it may be a bit burdensome for some students or friends who want to experience and observe first. In this case, this strategy might be more suitable for you. Axie has an unwritten rule, which is the scholarship program. Players with extra Axies open a new account to rent to new players for free to play, but the 150 SLP earned daily is shared proportionally, usually 64 for the player, 4 for the owner (in countries like the Philippines where labor costs are lower, some owners may reduce it to 55 or even lower), and it needs to be completed daily, just like working a job.

This is not an official system developed by the game itself but rather a gameplay method researched by players. Since it can help increase the user base of Axie, there is no objection. Since it is not an official system, there may be some potential risks, but most of these risks lie with the owner. For example, if the employee does not complete the 150 SLP mission daily or opens multiple accounts leading to an account ban, there is basically no risk for the employee. Finding a trustworthy owner is crucial. This strategy is suitable for friends who do not want to bear the financial cost, but personally, it may waste a lot of time and freedom and may not be easy to apply for, considering the competition is quite high. Friends with more time can give it a try.

Unlike the above, in this strategy, you purchase the initial three Axies yourself, but opt for slightly lower-quality Axies to reduce costs, such as Axies that have bred many times or hybrid Axies with good skills. This strategy allows you to enjoy the daily 150 SLP on your own terms and choose your game time freely. If you don't play for a day, you earn less, but you can slowly accumulate more funds and start breeding. This strategy is more suitable for friends willing to bear lower financial costs but seeking independence. Personally, it seems good as it may slightly waste more time accumulating funds for the next step.

3. Farm Owner (Medium Risk, Medium Return)

Breeding is a major feature of Axie. With two Axies, sufficient SLP, and AXS, you can produce an egg that will hatch in 5 days.

As a farm owner, there are several strategies you can adopt. You can specialize in finding some low-bred fish pets to sell the eggs directly, or you can choose purebred pets with better gene skills to breed and sell, and more advanced farm owners can consider breeding powerful hybrid pets for PVP and selling at high prices. Each hatching is an experience like opening a blind box, which is quite interesting.

If you want to start breeding right after entering the game, beginners should choose purebred Axies that have not bred many times. Purebreds and the Axies bred from purebreds are more stable. Once you gain experience, you can explore more advanced gameplay. This strategy is more suitable for players willing to bear a certain financial cost and want a more complete gaming experience. Pan is currently at this stage, more balanced, able to attack and defend. I recommend considering this approach. Of course, if you are confident and have capital, you can purchase a large number of Axies, SLP, and AXS to breed extensively to increase profits, but the risk will also increase significantly.

4. Boss (High Risk, High Return)

Just as there are workers, there are also bosses. In the mid to late game, besides occupying space and energy with Axies, you will have many extras. Besides selling them on the market, renting them out to new players in teams can also provide a stable cash flow. However, it is important to note that the scholarship system is not official and requires negotiation among players. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully select players to avoid encountering those who lose interest quickly or players who open multiple accounts, which can reduce profits or even lead to account bans (if banned, your three Axies will be locked, so be very careful in your selection).

Many farm owners also act as bosses. The more employees you have, the higher your income. This strategy requires more time to manage your employees. In theory, you will have more Axies on hand (of course, Axies cannot be sold immediately) and if the game rules change, such as the removal of daily missions, your income will be significantly affected. It is a gameplay method with higher risk but higher returns. Pan is currently moving towards this stage.

5. Landlord (Highest Risk, Highest Return)

In the upcoming versions of Axie, there will be a land system and other features. The specific gameplay has not been released yet, but land parcels have already started trading. If you believe in Axie's future, limited land value will definitely be more valuable than the unlimited production of Axies. The prices have multiplied significantly during this period. However, it is important to note that the actual use of land parcels has yet to be demonstrated. With new versions released, there may be more competitors in the market. Whether Axie can maintain its lead is uncertain.

Therefore, this strategy is undoubtedly high risk. If Axie can continue to lead in the competition, the value of land parcels will inevitably soar. Core land parcels may even fetch sky-high prices. About Choosing Pets

From my personal perspective, the biggest challenge when starting out is choosing pets. Here, I share a strategy that I currently find most suitable for newcomers. Unlike the previous mainstream lineup of Plant + Beast + Bird, I recommend the current Plant + Double Fish lineup, provided that they are purebred Axies, which is becoming more popular.

In addition to the lineup itself being stronger, what's more important is that the lineup already has 2 pets of the same race for breeding. If you have friends playing with you, it's even more efficient. You can have 2 plants and 4 fish to start your breeding journey. Fish do not need to worry about inbreeding and can reproduce infinitely. The money from sales can be used to buy another plant, allowing plants to reproduce indefinitely. Gradually expand to other species. This lineup is great for general gold farming, PVP, or breeding. I recommend it to everyone. When it comes to skill selection, it's best to have a fish with a 0-cost energy skill for more balanced offense and defense.

Risks of Axie

Similar to NBA Top Shot, the continuation of a game depends on the team's capabilities and the game's foundation. Axie's advantage is its free trading, unlike NBA Top Shot, which restricts cashouts. However, the downside is that if the economy collapses or new games emerge, the number of players willing to stay is uncertain, unlike NBA with a large fan base.
