Singer A-Mei announced the "aMEI ASMR World Tour Concert" at the end of last year, with 130,000 tickets sold out immediately after going on sale on 1/1; on the eve of the first concert in April, she surprised fans by announcing the ASMR NFT project. Setting it apart from other artist/celebrity NFT projects, A-Mei's NFT project combines generative art, collaborative experiences, utilizes the Tezos blockchain, and involves collaboration with several top creators in Taiwan. Most importantly, it is offered "for free" to all concert ticket holders, setting a new standard for celebrity NFTs by not using hype as a consumption incentive for supporters.

New Concert Experience: ASMeiR NFT

Starting from the night of April 1st at 11:59 PM, on the first night after A-Mei's concert, attendees can receive a free ASMeiR NFT from A-Mei with their concert ticket, excluding internet handling fees. Artist Wang Xinren, who participated in the creation project, commented, "This is a soul-binding NFT." Fans will receive a set of codes during the concert, and by combining them with their ticket stubs, the audience can actively participate in the online experience, resulting in the instant generation of ASMeiR NFTs. In other words, the accessories and other patterns of A-Mei's NFT are not pre-selected designs but are art pieces generated in real-time through algorithms after the blind box is opened. They are divided into basic, special, and artist collaboration editions. These images will be dynamic and include ASMR sound effects.

Behind the Scenes of ASMeiR NFT Project

Wang Zongxin, the artistic director of Dosomething Studio and a creative consultant for the Golden Horse Awards, Golden Melody Awards, and Golden Bell Awards, and the director behind Dwagie's "Family Music" MV, is one of the main initiators of the ASMeiR NFT project. Wang Zongxin's original intention for the project was to break away from merely catering to fans and find a way to present blockchain to the mainstream market. By gifting fans with free minted NFTs and leveraging A-Mei's influence, a positive cycle will be generated for Taiwan's overall blockchain and NFT industry.

Artist Wang Xinren also mentioned that choosing to work with the Tezos blockchain, which has a large community of artists in Taiwan and low transaction fees, was to avoid the common Gas Fee battles on Ethereum. This decision allows mainstream audiences unfamiliar with the blockchain ecosystem to have a lower barrier and more cost-effective experience. The ASMeiR NFT official website also provides tutorials for using the desktop-specific Tezos extension plugin Temple and the app version wallet Kukai.

Collaboration with Taiwan NFT Artists

One of A-Mei's team and Dosomething Studio's project concepts is to collaborate with multiple internationally renowned Taiwanese artists and NFT creative teams to reach a wider audience. Some of the artists involved are Wang Xinren, who has appeared on Art Blocks, Capsule Vault, Li Chenan, cowperwang, Dwagie, Dong Shihang, Raimochi, Pu Chen, Anti-social animal, and Katana N' Samurai.

Soul-Binding: A New Path for Avatar-style NFTs

Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, once published an article on the application of "soul-binding" NFTs. He believes that non-transferable NFTs will open a new door for blockchain applications, shifting the focus from wealth creation to representing one's identity.

Wang Xinren stated that the NFTs introduced by A-Mei combine the audience's subjective experiences to create art. For collectors, this is a personal and unique experience, aligning more with the essence of avatar-style NFTs and online identity. Therefore, ASMeiR NFT is launched with the spirit of soul-binding NFTs.
