Loot founder launches blockchain-based virtual pet WAGMIGOTCHI, emphasizing it is purely experimental and the pets are not NFTs.

After the founder of Loot launched a text-based RPG NFT that amazed the cryptocurrency community, he has released an experimental virtual pet game called "WAGMIGOTCHI." However, he emphasizes that players will not receive any rewards from it, as the game is purely experimental and the virtual pets are not NFTs.

WAGMIGOTCHI

Loot founder Dom Hofmann first revealed on Twitter that he had started a new experiment based on the blockchain, but not NFTs, emphasizing that this project was not apeable and could not be rushed into. However, about an hour later, he announced that the new project was dead.

After receiving more than 60% support to continue his experimental project, Dom immediately announced the launch of WAGMIGOTCHI.

WAGMIGOTCHI is similar to the nostalgic virtual pet machines, where players can raise virtual pets on the blockchain. Interactions with the pets include activities such as cleaning, feeding, playing, and sleeping.

Each of the four activities has a "demand bar," clicking on each activity can meet the demand, but different activities may affect each other. For example, playing may lead to the need for feeding, and if the demand bar is too low, it may cause the pet to die. Interactions earn points based on hearts.

Originally, WAGMIGOTCHI could only interact with contracts, but Twitter user @sammdec immediately created the frontend for it, as shown in the image below.

Pet: Good morning

Meanwhile, SushiSwap core developer Ross Campbell minted LOVE tokens for LOVE points, allowing users to claim LOVE, and many users have already made claims.

Twitter user @m1guelpf also deployed the contract on the Polygon testnet and is currently working on the frontend for it.

Founder: Don't try it lightly

Dom continues to urge on Twitter:

Friends, you won't get anything from the game. It's an experiment. Unless you are willing to take care of the pet for free, don't play. If you can't understand it, don't play. I've said it three times, still thinking about whether to play? Then don't play. Not yet audited, Gas estimates may not always work, manual adjustment is required. If you don't understand, don't play.
