Renowned NFT digital artist Beeple appeared on the US television show "The Tonight Show" on Wednesday, where he discussed NFTs and his journey with host Jimmy Fallon. During the conversation, Jimmy Fallon also revealed that he acquired his first Bored Ape NFT.

Beeple, whose real name is Mike Winkelmann, made his first public appearance in a mainstream setting. He discussed with Jimmy Fallon his 14 years of daily artwork creation, with each piece rarely selling for more than $100. They also talked about the journey behind his recent artwork "Human One," which sold for $28.9 million at a Christie's auction.

They also discussed Beeple's record-breaking sale in March of his NFT artwork "Everydays — The First 5000 Days" for $69.3 million at Christie's auction.

This piece is a compilation of Beeple's daily works over the past 14 years. It marked Beeple's first auction in a traditional auction house and the first time a traditional auction house held a digital art auction.

Jimmy Fallon Buys Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT

During the interview, Jimmy Fallon mentioned that he recently purchased his first NFT:

I recently bought my first NFT, really, I bought it through MoonPay, I did my homework, it's like the PayPal of the cryptocurrency world, and I bought a Bored Ape NFT.

Fallon shared on Twitter his newly acquired Bored Ape Yacht Club BAYC, changing his profile picture to BAYC #599.

According to OpenSea and on-chain data, Fallon bought BAYC #599 for 46.6 ETH, approximately $215,000, previously priced at 33.5 ETH.

Fallon, with over 51.3 million Twitter followers, undoubtedly increased the exposure of NFTs. Additionally, Universal Music and music producer Timbaland recently announced plans to form a virtual band for Bored Ape Yacht Club, leading to a 240% increase in BAYC's trading volume in the past day.

On 11/11, Universal Music announced the launch of "Kingship," a NFT virtual band consisting of three Bored Apes and one Mutant Ape owned by renowned collector Jimmy McNeils, managed by rap artist Snoop Dogg's agent Nicholas Adler.

Universal Music plans to release NFTs for Kingship, with holders gaining access to exclusive events, and BAYC owners having priority to purchase the NFTs.

Following the launch of "Kingship," Grammy-winning music producer Timbaland also announced the creation of Ape-In Productions using Bored Apes, a new entertainment company and virtual community platform.

Ape-In Productions will develop music and animation for the metaverse, collaborating with various Bored Ape owners and other NFT projects. Their first project is the virtual hip-hop band "TheZoo," with the debut single "ApeSh!t" produced by Timbaland himself.

In early October, BAYC announced plans to mint coins in the first quarter of next year. With recent positive developments, its daily trading volume increased by 248.21%, second only to the top-ranked blockchain game Axie Infinity.
