STEPN recruits its fourth chain partner, allowing for customizable games, and cross-chain usability for energy and governance tokens.

Move to Earn application STEPN has announced the recruitment of the fourth "realm" partner. Specific details are yet to be officially released, but the realm will serve as another server branch of the game, allowing for customization of game branding, narrative, and community culture. This may indicate that STEPN has already secured the third blockchain to join, with plans to subsequently expand to the fourth blockchain.

Utility Tokens Are Not Universally Interchangeable

According to the official announcement, "realm" is a server for hosting forked games that allows different users to play the same game in different domains.

As STEPN has been operating on BNB Chain and Solana, and is now bidding for the fourth "realm," this may indicate that STEPN has already secured the third blockchain to land on and is publicly recruiting the fourth blockchain on Twitter.

STEPN also explains the common rules between games on different domain chains:

  • Energy sharing
  • GMT can be used across chains
  • Utility tokens like GST cannot be universally used across chains

Custom Game Brands

STEPN states that forked servers in different domains have a high degree of freedom to define game brands and community culture. For example, development teams may not want to do similar "Move to Earn" concepts, so NFTs do not necessarily have to be sneakers. Other customizable mechanisms include:

  • Game narratives
  • Theme colors
  • Utility tokens
  • Visual effects of NFTs

STEPN emphasizes that other developers choosing to collaborate rather than independently develop GameFi will be able to share income together, benefit from high community engagement (percentage not disclosed), and organic growth, and mentions that STEPN has 3 million monthly active users, 800,000 daily active users, and a monthly revenue exceeding 100 million USD, all of which is still growing.
